I heard someone say this past week that Fundamentalist Christians do not believe in dinosaurs. This troubled me. I am a Christian and I believe that dinosaurs existed. How could my professor make such an outlandish statement about which he knew nothing? I don't blame my professor. We are all told in school and by the media that Christians are dumb. They don't believe in science because they believe so much in their religion. It is portrayed to us that if you believe in God, you can't know anything about science or you think that any science is not real; you cant believe in the natural if you believe in a supernatural.
The context of my professor's statement goes like this. I did not record what was said but this is my best recollection from memory.
Professor: "Just think oil has practically been a main staple in the human and economic world since the dawn of the dinosaurs." What is wrong with this sentence?
Student 1: Humans weren't around when dinosaurs were around.
Professor: Right
Student 2: Well maybe the author is fundamentalist christian.
Professor: Yeah, maybe he is fundamentalist christian, but if he was he wouldn't believe in dinosaurs.
Well there are two falsehoods in this discussion: 1) Humans were not around when dinosaurs were around and 2) Fundamentalist Christians don't believe in dinosaurs.
1) Humans were alive when dinosaurs were alive. There are numerous findings that back up this claim. Human footprints have been found alongside and even in dinosaur footprints in Turkmenistan.
Carvings in caves that housed were used by man as shelter have been found as well.
These pictures are only empirical science. There are skeptics who say these were fabricated. There are skeptics for literally everything. You google anything and find a conspiracy theory or a skepticism for it.
2) Fundamentalist Christian do believe in dinosaurs. My testimony alone proves that. But I think what my professor meant was that Christian science does not back up the existence of dinosaurs. This too is false.
Job 40:15-18

These are descriptions of dinosaurs in the Bible.
So how did the dinosaurs die? If man was around when they were, and the Bible describes them, how did they become extinct?
The Flood. The Bible describes the creation of the earth and how it was before the Great Flood.
Genesis 1:6-8
6 And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” 7 So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.
So there was, before the flood, water above the sky creating a canopy surrounding the entire earth. It is interesting to think about how the earth's vegetation was before the flood with this canopy above it, but what matters is the amount of sun it reflected an retracted. There must have been a lot of radiation that comes to the earth today that didn't before. The Bible tells us that God put two of every animal on the Ark. For some there were seven. This means God put two dinosaurs on the Ark (the average size of dinosaurs was no larger than an average chicken, contrary to popular belief). He didn't need to put two of every species on the Ark, only two of every kind of animal that could mate with each other. So they had to have the same number of chromosomes. God didn't need to put two Airedale Terriers and two Staffordshire Terriers, just two dogs. Through genetic mutations and selective genes, we have all the different species that we do today. So when the flood happened, only two dinosaurs were saved. With only two dinosaurs left to die in order to make the dinosaurs go extinct doesn't seem as difficult as it is made out to be. these two remaining dinosaurs must have lived for a little while, but dies because of the new circumstances and new environment that the entire world is in now.
Therefore, humans walked with dinosaurs, and dinosaurs fit in the Fundamentalist Christian view of the world and its creation.

There was no way of man unearthing million-year-old bones of dinosaurs and deciding that this is what they looked like. They had to have seen them with their own eyes.
