This is a pretty cool story. I would like to go out in the woods and live for five years on my own with a loved one whether it be a family member or a best friend. That would be sick. I think I would learn a lot more out there than sitting in classrooms all the time. That is so boring. The wilderness would be really not boring. I would need to learn, or else die. In the classroom I learn or I have fun/goof off/be lazy. Pretty easy decisions if you ask me. I'd rather not die and I'd rather not die of boredom. I don't really know the whole background to this story but I think its cool. Not cool that his dad died, but cool that they decided to get away from this cruel world. This civilization we live in is anything but civil. To get away from it would be relaxing, refreshing, and just plain good. Get away from the money system, the relationships, the family for a sabbatical. Not in a bad way, just to appreciate family and friends more. I think you appreciate things way more when you don't have those things. To put yourself in the position of not having anything is amazing. I admire this young man and his father who went on like this for five years. Imagine the shock when he sees an iPad of a Nintendo Wii. I'm sure it will be amazing for him. A smart phone will be so new to him. Things we take for granted, he won't. What an experience to be in his shoes. He could see Inception for the first time. Something to think about as we go throughout our days taking these technologies and such for granted.
